The company concentrates on the logistic service of heavy industry in the Upper Silesian Industrial Region with a special emphasis put on the branches of coal mining, energy industry, metallurgical industry, and construction industry.
The CTL Maczki-Bór has a very broad competencies and experience in the field of railway supply of industrial products, technological railway transportation, comprehensive service of railway sidings, service of engines and cars, as well as the management of the railway infrastructure. The company also has its own open-pit quartz sand mine, and is an important provider of this aggregate, offering the service of collection and adaptation of industrial waste.
The company possesses and manages its own railway infrastructure located in the Upper Silesian Industrial Region with the access to European-wide railway network.
This infrastructure provides the railway communication with the largest industrial entities in the region, including coal mines, power plants, steelworks, and other facilities. It is designed for freight traffic, and available to all certified railway carriers on commercial terms. The company is a certified provider of services having the ISO 9001:2009 Integrated Management System certificate, as well as the ISO 14001:2005 certificate.
The origin of the company is directly related with establishing the Przedsiębiorstwo Materiałów Podsadzkowych Przemysłu Węglowego [Coal Industry Filling Material Company], which between 1952 and 1991 constituted the logistic core of coal mining in the area of railway transportation, shipment, filling material supply, and adaptation of post-mining waste. By the decision of the then government, the state-owned PMPPW company was divided into several independent business entities, including the present company of the CTL Maczki-Bór.
From 1991 to 2001, the company operated on the market as the sand mine Kopalnia Piasku Maczki-Bór Sp. z o.o., and, after the privatization process finished in 2001, it was admitted by a strategic investor as a member of the CTL Logistics Group, and adopted the name CTL Maczki-Bór Sp. z o.o.
During the years of economic transformation in Poland, the company has been developing the image of a railway carrier and forwarder, which to the greatest extent reflects the nature of the services provided by the company, and allows utilizing very rich railway facilities, including both the company’s own rolling stock and infrastructure.
In this moment, it is worth noting that the railway routes of the CTL Maczki-Bór are located practically in all the Upper Silesian Industrial Region, with the access to coal mines, steelworks, power plants, and the tracks of the PLK [Polish Railway Lines].
Using its convenient location and potential, the company built logistic solutions for industry, based on the supply chain of solid fuel for energy industry, collection and adaptation post-mining waste, and post-power plant waste in post-sand pits.
